Register this week for Gardening Under Mediterranean Skies symposium, which will be held in the greater Pasadena area on Sept. 23 - 26, 2010. There is room for fun and charm and joy in the garden, and this symposium, titled Style & Whimsy in the Sustainable Garden, will be focused on the lighthearted side of gardening in harmony with our climate. Marco Barrantes president of La Loma Development Company will lead an Advanced Broken Concrete Workshop at Arlington Gardens. Marco is a master at using broken concrete (some call it “urbanite”!) to make paths, stairs, walls, seating areas and much more. Join him for a hands-on workshop where you will learn advanced techniques that you can use to create functional - and beautiful - hardscape features. Wear work clothes and bring sturdy gloves and a hat. LOCATION: Arlington Garden. Fee: $30; $5 of your fee will go to support Arlington Garden in Pasadena. For more information and to RSVP visit Pacific Horiculture's Educational Programs, Gardening Under Mediterranean Skies VIII.
