La Loma School Projects a part of Wildside Garden Tour

The Inaugural Wildside School Garden Tour has been established to highlight and promote work done throughout the city improving our schools and providing students with opportunities beyond the blacktop.  The self-guided, city wide tour will promote the gardens, people behind them, and the overall school greening movement.  The tour will include student farms, habitat gardens, and other amazing outdoor spaces, many  open to the public for the first time.  The Wildside School Garden Tour is supported by environmental and educational non-profit organizations from the FIRST20 Network, LA Unified School District, parents, teachers, students, and community members.

The self-guided tour will be held at 20 schools this April 26th, 2014 from 10 am - 4 pm.  Some schools will have guest presenters, give aways, and volunteer projects. More information is available on the web at wildsidegardentour.com or on Facebook at Wildside School Garden Tour.   This tour coincides with the Mar Vista Green Garden Tour and five schools are on both tours.
